“In the last days,” God has said, “I will do a marvelous thing in remembrance of my promises, and for a second time will deliver my people who are descendants of Israel. Also, in remembrance of my promises to you and your father Lehi, I will not forget your descendants. This I will do by bringing them the words of their ancestors, which will spread to all corners of the earth like a banner among my people, the descendants of Israel. Many Gentiles will say that they already have a Bible and that there cannot be any more Bibles. But do the foolish Gentiles even thank the Jews for the Bible they have, that has come from them? Do they remember the suffering of the Jewish people, or recall their diligence in bringing salvation to the Gentiles? Rather than thank the Jews, who are my ancient promised people, the Gentiles curse them, hate them, and refuse to help them. But I have not forgotten them, and what they do to the Jews will also be done to them.
“Remember that I have created many nations and have created all men to receive my word. In the last days, two testimonies of my word from two nations will come forth, because I have said the same thing to both nations. When the two nations run together, their two testimonies will also run together. I will bring forth both testimonies to bear witness that I am the same God, past, present, and forever, and that I have spoken of these things twice. My work is not yet finished, nor will it ever be finished. Just because the Gentiles have some of my words in their Bible, they should not suppose that they have all of my words, or imagine that I have not caused more words also to be written. Everywhere I speak, I command that people should write the words I speak to them, because I will judge men on the basis of what I have commanded to be written. I will speak to the Jews, the Nephites, the other tribes of Israel, and to the other nations of earth, and command that they write down my words also. In the end, the Jews will have the words of the Nephites, and the Nephites will have the words of the Jews. Just as my people, the descendants of Israel, will be gathered home to their own lands, my words will also be gathered into one book. I will show those who fight against me that I am the same God who promised Abraham that I would remember and shelter his descendants forever.”
