Helaman 15

You have been a chosen people of the Lord. He has loved the Nephites. He punishes them when they sin. The Lord punishes them because He loves them.

The Lamanites keep God’s commandments. All who do this are firm and steadfast in the faith and are made free because of their faith in Christ.

In the latter-days, the Lord’s promises will come to our brothers, the Lamanites [American Indians]. Even though they will suffer hardship and be driven, hunted, beaten down and scattered abroad. Even though they will have no place for safety, the Lord will be merciful to them. They will be brought to knowledge of Jesus, their great shepherd.
