Alma 62

When Moroni read this letter, his heart took courage and he was filled with joy for Pahoran. Moroni was sad for those who rebelled against their country and their God.

Moroni took a small number of men and marched to the land of Gideon. All along the way, he raised the flag of liberty to gain help. Thousands flocked to him. When Moroni united his forces with Pahoran, they became strong.

Moroni and Pahoran went to Zarahemla and battled against the men of Pachus. Pachus was killed and his men were taken prisoners. Pahoran was restored to his judgment seat.

Moroni immediately sent supplies and an army of six thousand men to Helaman and an army of six thousand men, with food, to the armies of Lehi and Teancum.

Moroni and his army then went from city to city destroying the Lamanite armies until he joined the armies of Lehi and Teancum.

The Lamanite armies were pushed together in one great group in the land of Moroni. Ammoron, the King of the Lamanites, was also with them. Moroni and Lehi and Teancum surrounded them with their armies.

Moroni marched his army on the Lamanites and killed them with an awful slaughter. Those who were not killed were pushed out of the land. This ended the thirty-first year of the judges.

Once more, the people of Nephi had peace. Moroni gave up command of his armies to his son, Moronihah, and retired to his own house to live the rest of his days in peace. Pahoran returned to the governor’s seat. Helaman began again to preach the word of God to the people.

Helaman and his brothers taught God’s word with much power to the convincing of many people to repent and be baptized. The people of Nephi began to grow strong again. They began to grow rich.

Even though they were rich and strong, they were humble and quick to remember God. They remembered the great things the Lord had done for them. They prayed to the Lord their God continually and the Lord blessed them.

Helaman died, in the thirty-fifth year of the judges.
