Alma 54

In the twenty-ninth year, Ammoron, the Lamanite leader, sent a request to Moroni to exchange prisoners.

Moroni wrote him, saying: I want to tell you a little about the justice of God and His sword of anger that hangs over you unless you repent and withdraw your armies.

I want to tell you about the awful hell that waits for murderers like you and your brother. But I think talking to you is useless. I think you are a child of hell.

I will exchange prisoners only if you return one man, his wife and his children for every prisoner I return to you.

If you do not do this, I will come against you with my armies. I will arm our women and children. It will be blood for blood, life for life. I will battle until you are wiped off the face of the earth. Now I close my letter. I am Moroni; I am a leader of the people of the Nephites.

Ammoron read the letter and was angry. He wrote to Moroni saying: I am Ammoron, King of the Lamanites. I do not fear your threats. We are not afraid of you.

I agree to exchange prisoners according to your request, I would rather give food to my own men. Then we will fight an eternal war with you. We know nothing about God and neither do you. If there is such a being, he has made us as well as you.

If there is a devil and a hell, this God will send you to live there with my brother, whom you have hinted has gone to this place. I am Ammoron, a bold Lamanite. I close my letter to Moroni.
