Alma 11

Their judges and lawyers often stirred up trouble in order to get more work and more money. Zeezrom said to Amulek: I will give you six onties of silver [about three months’ pay] if you will deny there is a God.

Amulek said: You know there is a God, but you love money.

Zeezrom asked again: Do you say that God’s Son will come? Amulek answered: Yes.

Zeezrom said: Shall He save His people in their sins? Amulek answered: He will not.

Then Zeezrom said to the people: See, he says that the Son of God will come, but not save His people.

Amulek then said: You have lied. I said He will not save His people in their sins. Jesus Christ cannot save people in their sins. No unclean thing can enter the kingdom of heaven. He only saves people who repent.

Zeezrom changed the subject and asked Amulek: Is the Son of God the Eternal Father? Amulek said: Yes, he is the Eternal Father of heaven and of earth and of our salvation.

Our bodies will die, but Christ will overcome death. Because of Him, our spirit and our body will join again in perfect health. Not one hair of our heads will be lost. This resurrection will come to all, both old and young, both slave and free, male and female, evil and good.

Then we will live forever and be brought before Christ the Son, God the Father and the Holy Spirit to be judged for the good and evil we have done.

When Amulek finished speaking, the people were amazed. Zeezrom was afraid and trembled.
