3 Nephi 27

The disciples went and baptized in the name of Jesus. When they met together in mighty prayer and fasting, Jesus came to them again. He said to them: What do you want me to give to you? They said to Him: Lord, we want you to tell us the name of this church. Some people argue about what to call it.

The Lord said: Why argue? Have they read the scriptures that say you must take on you the name of Christ? Do all you do in my name. If it is not called by my name, how can it be my church? If a church is called by Moses’ name, then it is Moses’ church. So, call the church by my name.

If it is in my name, the Father will hear you. If the church is built on my gospel, the Father will show His works in it. Other churches are not built on my gospel; they are built on the work of men or on the work of the devil. They may have joy for a time, but by and by, the end will come and they will be cut down.

I came into the world to do the will of my Father. My Father sent me to be lifted up on the cross. All people will be lifted up by the Father to stand before me and be judged for their works.

If you repent and be baptized in my name and obey to the end, I will wash away your sins. But those who do not obey to the end will be cut down from the presence of God. No unclean thing can enter into His kingdom. No person will enter into God’s peace and rest unless all his sins are washed clean by Jesus Christ. This is my gospel.

You know the things you must do in my church. Do the works you have seen me do. If you do these things, you will be lifted up at the last day.

Write the things you have seen and heard, except those things that are forbidden. Write the works of this people. For this people will be judged out of the books which have been written. All things are written by the Father. What kind of person should you be? Be like me.

I go to the Father now. Whatever you ask from the Father in my name will be given to you. Ask and you will receive. Knock and it will be opened to you. Those who ask will receive.

My joy is full because of you and also this people. Even Heavenly Father and all the holy angels rejoice for this people because none of them are lost.

I am sad about the people who will live. In four generations from now, this people will be led away by the devil. They will sell me for silver, gold and riches. I will visit them then and turn their evil works on their heads.

Jesus said to His disciples: Enter in at the strait gate. Strait is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life and few will find it. Wide is the gate and broad is the way which leads to death and many people travel there.
