3 Nephi 26

Jesus explained all things from the beginning until the time He would come again. He explained things down to the great and last day, when all people will stand before God to be judged.

If they are good, they will have eternal life. If they are evil, they will be cursed, according to the mercy, justice and holiness of Jesus Christ.

The Lord taught the people for three days. Afterwards, He visited them often and gave them the sacrament. He taught and blessed the children.

The children spoke great and marvelous things to their fathers—greater even than Christ said. Even babies spoke amazing things that we were not allowed to write down.

They taught and helped each other. They shared all things and were fair with each other. They did all God commanded them.

Not even a hundredth part of the things Jesus taught to the people are written in this book. I, Mormon, a follower of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, have written the record of Nephi in this book.

I was going to write all Nephi wrote on other plates, but the Lord told me not to. He said: I will test the faith of my people.

The things I have written are a small part of the things Nephi wrote about Jesus’ teachings. I have written these things so they may come some day to the Gentiles and to my people [the Indians]. This book will test their faith. If they believe these things, they will be given even greater things. If they will not believe these things, the greater things will be keep back from them.
