3 Nephi 14

J esus then turned and spoke to the people, saying: Judge not, so you will not be judged. In the same way you judge, God will judge you. Do not see a splinter in your brother’s eye, while you ignore a pole in your own eye? You cannot say: Let me pull the splinter out of your eye, while a pole is in your own eye.

Do not give holy things to dogs. Do not throw your pearls to pigs, who trample them under their feet.

Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and it will be opened to you. Everyone who asks receives. Everyone who seeks finds.

If a son asks for bread, what father will give a stone? If you know how to give good gifts to your children, how much better gifts your Heavenly Father will give to those who ask Him? Whatever you want people to do to you, do the same to them.

Enter in at the strait gate. Wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to ruin. Many people go there. Strait is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to eternal life. Few people find it.

Beware of false prophets. They come in sheep’s clothing, but they are like wolves inside. You will know them by their actions. A good tree cannot give evil fruit; a bad tree cannot give good fruit.

Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will come in the kingdom of heaven. Those who do the wishes of my Father in Heaven will come in.

Many will say to me in that day: Lord, Lord, we have said many wonderful things in your name. I will say to them: I never knew you. You did not do as I commanded. Go away from me.

Whoever hears my words and does them is a like a wise person who builds his house on a rock. The rain comes, the floods come and the winds blow and beat on the house. The house stays up because it is built on my rock.

Everyone who hears my words and does not do them is like a foolish person who builds his house on the sand. When the rain and floods come and the winds blow and beat on the house, the house falls down hard.
