3 Nephi 11

A large group of Nephites gathered around the temple in the land Bountiful. They were marveling and wondering about the many changes. They spoke of Jesus Christ and the signs of His death.

They heard a voice from above. They did not know where the voice came from. It was not a harsh voice; it was not a loud voice. It was a small voice, but it went to their souls. It made their hearts and chests grow and feel hot. It made their whole bodies shake.

They heard the voice again and they still did not understand it. When the voice came the third time, they turned their eyes to the sky where the sound came from. The voice said: Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, in whom I have glorified my name. Hear him.

They saw a man coming down from the sky. He was dressed in a white robe. He came down and stood with the people. The eyes of all the crowd was on Him. They did not dare open their mouths.

At first they thought He was an angel. Then He stretched out His hands and said to the people: I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets said would come into the world. I am the light and the life of the world. I have done all the Father has asked me to do. I have glorified the Father by taking on me the sins of the world. I have suffered all things for the Father.

When Jesus said these words, all the people fell to the earth. They remembered the prophets had told them Christ would show himself to them after He rose from the dead.

The Lord said: Arise and come to me. Touch your hands on my side. Feel the nail prints in my hands and feet, so you will know I am the God of Israel and of the whole earth. I was killed for the sins of the world.

One by one they put their hands on His side and felt the nail prints in His hands and feet. They knew it was Jesus Christ. When they had all seen, they cried out: Hosanna! Blessed is the name of the Most High God! They kneeled down at the feet of Jesus and worshiped Him.

Jesus called Nephi to come to Him. Nephi came and kissed His feet. The Lord told Nephi to stand and said to Him: I give you power to baptize this people when I am gone back to heaven.

Then the Lord called others and gave them power to baptize. He said to them: Baptize in this way. Take those who repent of their sins down in the water and stand. Call them by name and say: Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. Then you will lower them under the water and bring them up out of the water. Baptize in this way, in my name.

There should be no arguments among you about my teachings, as there have been. Those who argue are not of me, but are of the devil. For the devil stirs up people’s hearts to argue with anger with each other.

Heavenly Father commands all people to repent, believe in me and be baptized. If you do, you will be saved; and you will be given the kingdom of God. Whoever does not believe in me, does not repent and is not baptized, will not go to heaven.

This is my gospel. It comes from Heavenly Father. Whoever believes in me believes in Heavenly Father. And whoever believes in Heavenly Father will believe in me, for the Father and the Holy Ghost and I are one.

Again, I say to you, you must repent, be baptized in my name and become as a little child, or you cannot have the kingdom of God.

This is my way. If you build on my way, you build on my rock and no power can defeat you. Whoever teaches against this is not built on my rock, but built on the sand. When the devil sends his storms and floods, the sandy foundation will crumble down.

Go to people over the land and tell the words I spoke.
