2 Nephi 27

In the last days, both those who will come on this land [Americas] and those who will be on other lands will be drunken in sin. When that day comes, they will be visited by the Lord with thunder and earthquakes and storms and the flame of swallowing fire.

All nations who fight against Zion will be like a hungry man who eats in his dreams but wakes up and finds his soul is empty.

God will bring you the words of a book [Book of Mormon]. They will be the words of a people who have slept. The words of this book will be read on the housetops and they will be read by the power of Christ.

The gold plates will be hidden from the eyes of the world. No one will see them except three witnesses. They will testify of the truth of the book. No others will see the book except a few by the will of God. They, too, will testify of God’s word.

God will bring part of the book to the world. Then it will be sealed up again and hidden up to God until the people are ready for more. Many people say they love God and with their lips, they honor him, but their hearts are far from him. Their fear of God is created by the men’s ideas.
