2 Nephi 26

After Christ rises from the dead, he will show himself [in the Americas] to our people. Signs will be given at his birth, death and resurrection. Christ’s death will be terrible to the wicked, for they will die.

The good people who listen to the prophets’ words and look forward to the signs of Christ will not die. God’s Son will show himself to them, he will heal them and they will have peace for three generations.

But in the fourth generation, a speedy destruction will come to my people. I have seen it in a vision. Their pride and foolishness will bring them death. The Lord’s Spirit does not stay with evil people. When the Spirit leaves, destruction soon follows.

After the people of Nephi and the people of Laman shrink in unbelief, they will be beaten by the Gentiles [Europeans]. The Lord will send Gentiles to camp against them and attack them with horses. The Gentiles will build forts against them and bring the Lamanites [the Indians] down low in the dust.

But the Gentiles will lift themselves up in their own pride. The Gentiles will stumble, because they build up churches that ignore the power and miracles of God. They will preach their own ideas to get money. These churches will cause jealousy and fighting and hate. There will be secret groups led by the devil.

The Lord does not work in darkness. Everything He does is for the blessing of His children. He loves us so much He will lay down his own life to bring us to Him.

He invites all to come. He does not say to some: Leave me. No, he says: All of you come to Me. Buy milk and honey without money and without price. He gives salvation free to all. He commands everyone to repent. To God, all people are alike.

The Lord says all people must have charity, which is love. If they have no charity, they are nothing. He commands us to not murder, lie, steal, swear the name of God, envy, hate and fight. Anyone who does these things will be punished.

No sin comes from the Lord. He does good things for people. He invites all to come to him, black and white, slave and free, male and female. All are alike to God.
