[(That’s how they did it, spiritually spilling over.)] How elders and priests handled the bread wine (flesh blood) of the ritual Jesus taught them.
They kneeled down and prayed this:
[for the bread:]
O Father, unending, unstoppable God, we remember your son Jesus Christ and what he taught and ask you to carve out a place at your table for this bread, slicing it from the ordinary into the otherworldly, that all its eaters will think deeply about Jesus’ incarnation and this introspection then say to you that they’ve changed their surname to his, framing their memory always, conforming them to the life he led, and transforming them daily with his spirit. Amen.
