2 Nephi 20

Chapter 20 of the Second Book of Nephi is virtually indistinguishable, word for word, from Chapter 10 of Isaiah from the Old Testament.

Isaiah predicts that God will send desolation to the people of Israel because of the unfair laws and the immoral behavior of his people. God will stand by without helping when the Assyrians invade and cleanse the land, as an instrument of God’s anger. After using Assyria, God will turn and punish them also, destroying their armies. Afterwards, those who are left in Israel and Judah will again come to trust in God. Isaiah warns those who have faith not to be afraid, because the Assyrian oppression will not last very long.
