2 Nephi 16

Chapter 16 of the Second Book of Nephi is virtually indistinguishable, word for word, from Chapter 6 of Isaiah from the Old Testament.

Isaiah relates how he came to see God and was purified in God’s presence by an angel. God then asked Isaiah to be his messenger and prophet to the people, and give him advice on how to send his message. Isaiah is commanded to relate this message until the cities are destroyed and the country is laid waste. God tells Isaiah that a tenth of his people will survive and Israel will grow again from this remnant.
