After I read Isaiah’s prophecies to my brothers, they asked, “What is the meaning of this? Are these words to be understood as spiritual or worldly?” they asked.
“They were told to Isaiah by the voice of the Spirit,” I answered, “and the Spirit speaks to prophets about worldly events. What I have read pertains to things both spiritual and worldly. It appears as though the family of Israel will be scattered across the face of the earth. Many of Israel’s descendants have already been scattered to the point where no one knows where they all are. After the family of Israel is completely scattered and confused, God will help raise a mighty nation among the Gentiles on this new continent. These Gentiles will then scatter our descendants even further.
“After God has scattered our descendants, he will do something amazing among the Gentiles which will be of great value to our descendants. It will be as if the Gentiles lifted our descendants up on their shoulders, carried them away in their arms, and nourished them by restoring their knowledge of God. This will be of great value to the Gentiles and all the descendants of Israel as well. By making the promises between God and Abraham known to everyone, all the people of the world will be blessed.
“The descendants of Israel will be gathered together in their lands of inheritance, knowing that God is their Savior. When that happens, the followers of the great and abominable church, the whore of all the earth, will fight amongst themselves. They will become drunken with their own blood. Every nation that fights against the family of Israel will end up falling into a pit of their own digging. All who oppose God will be destroyed. That great whore of an abominable church that has perverted the right ways of God will tumble heavily into the dust.
“The prophet says that the time quickly comes when Satan will have no more power over the hearts of men. The proud will be like stubble in the field that must be burned. God will pour out his anger because he will not permit the righteous to be destroyed by the wicked. Through his power, the righteous will be preserved while his enemies are destroyed by fire. Everyone who is righteous has nothing to be afraid of. Everyone who fails to listen to the warnings will be cut off.
“Moses said, ‘A prophet of God, like me, will rise up among you. When he does, you must listen to everything he says. Those who do not will be destroyed.’
“This prophet about whom Moses speaks is Jesus Christ, and he will exercise righteous judgments on all men. The righteous will not be afraid or confused. It is the followers of the devil who should be afraid. Churches that are built for the purpose of gaining wealth and power over people, or satisfying lust and worldly desires, should tremble and quake in fear for they are instruments of the devil. This is what the prophet Isaiah has to say.
“The righteous will be gathered from all corners of the earth and counted as one people, to find comfort, and nourishment under the one God, while Jesus Christ will rule in might, power, and glory. Satan will have no power over the people who live in righteousness.
“All these things written on these plates of brass are true and will shortly come to pass in the world. All people of the world who repent and are obedient to God will find safety and security in him. Don’t you believe for a moment that it is only your father and I who say these things are true. If you are obedient to God’s will, you too will be saved on the day of judgment.”
