Moroni 7

I now write a few words my father Mormon taught about faith, hope and charity:

I, Mormon, speak to you by the grace of God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. I speak to the peaceable followers of Christ, those who have a good hope that they will enter into the rest of the Lord, from now until they will rest with Him in heaven.

All good comes from God; all bad comes of the devil. The devil is an enemy to God. The devil wants you to sin; God wants you to do good. Everything that invites you to do good, to love God and serve Him comes from God.

Everything that invites people to do good and believe in Christ is from God. Anything that invites people to do evil, to not believe in Christ—to not serve God—comes from the devil.

The Spirit of Christ is given to everyone so they can know good from evil. You should think carefully with the light of Christ so you will know good from evil.

If you will hold on to every good thing, you will be a child of Christ. How is it possible to hold on to every good thing? It is done by faith.

God knows all things and He shows many things to us. He sends angels and prophets to tell about Christ. He shows us heavenly things in many ways.

God sends miracles, angels, prophets, scriptures and the Holy Ghost. These things come by faith.

All these things God shows us helps our faith to grow. Jesus Christ is the source of all good. He said: Ask for any good thing in faith from the Father in my name and it will be done. When you have faith in Christ, you will have hope He can bring you back to God.

This faith and hope will help you to feel grateful and to be careful to obey God. It will help you have love and charity for all people. If you do not have love and charity for others, your faith and hope is wasted. God said that charity, or everlasting love, is the most important thing.

Charity is patience, kindness and joy. When you have charity, you do not want other peoples’ things. You will not brag, or become mad easily, or think mean thoughts, or enjoy being bad.

Charity helps you hang on. Charity never fails. Charity is the pure love of Christ and it lasts forever. Whoever has charity, when the last day comes, will be happy. If you have no charity, you have nothing.

Pray to the Father with all the energy of your heart that you will be filled with this love. It is given to all the true followers of Jesus Christ. Those who have faith, hope and charity, will live happily in his kingdom forever. Amen.
