Mormon 5

Then I went with the people. They thought I could save them, so I decided to lead their armies again. But I had no hope. I knew the Lord would punish them, for they would not repent or pray to their God to save them. It was a scene of awful blood and slaughter.

The knowledge of these things must come to the remnant of these people [the Indians] and to the Gentiles [Europeans and Americans]. I speak to them because I know they will feel sorrow for the trouble of the house of Israel. They will feel sadness that this people could have been held in the arms of Jesus.

These things are written and hidden so they will come to you in the Lord’s time. This book will go to the unbelieving Jews to teach them that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.

This book will also help those who remain of this people [the Indians] to more fully believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. It will come to them from the Gentiles.

This people will be scattered and will become a dark, filthy and disgusting people more than any Nephites or Lamanites, because of their unbelief.

Once they were a beautiful people. They had Christ for their shepherd. They were led by God the Father. Now they are led around by Satan, like dust is blown by the wind, or like a ship without a sail or anchor is tossed on the waves.

The Lord will give their blessings to the Gentiles who will come to this land. The Gentiles will scatter and drive them like wild goats.

Then the Lord will remember his promise to the house of Israel. The Lord remembers the prayers of good people. Gentiles, do you know that you are in the hands of God? Do you know that he has all power? Do you know that when God commands, the earth obeys?

Gentiles repent. Humble yourselves before God, or He will come out in justice against you. A part of the people of Jacob will go among you and tear you in pieces like a lion.
