2 Nephi 32

Even if it seems like a screwy, head-scratching, lip-chewing process I’m outlining, keep your eyes on the Great Supper at the end of the day. When he finally holds that feast, God will have to take you in.

One way to heaven—you could almost write a song just from that thought. And the Lamb is the way. Jesus is the way. Your Elder Brother is the way. One way, and how many different ways can I say that?

I think you’re wondering what you do beyond setting off on the path I’ve described. I’m not sure why you would be. As I told you, you will think better and speak better—like angels, really—and what better sign is there that God’s spirit is in you? So listen to that voice within you. And even listen to the words coming out of your mouth, sometimes without you even knowing ahead of time what you’re about to say. These are the words of Jesus himself, if you’ll just open yourselves to that. That voice now flowing like a river inside your mind will sail you toward truth, not only in your ideas but in your acts. I can’t show you what to do. That voice has to show you.

My only caveat: you’ll have to see how he himself actually acts when he arrives on earth. That will guide you too. People will be able to read about him, though first just priests and academics, then later, average people in most any language, as long as they can read.

Okay. This time I’m really done. Nothing left to say. God’s even telling me to shut up. Still, I have to say how disappointed I am that people won’t study, won’t even try to spade up their ignorance, won’t search for better ideas, which God is happy to provide.

Oh, one more thing: God wants you to pray, the devil wants you not to pray. There are a lot of different ways to pray. But any way is better than no way. Pray in some way all the time, avoiding prayer-fatigue as much as you can. (I can’t explain it, but you’ll know it when you feel it.) And certainly anything you do in God’s name you should precede with prayer. Ask God to make it worth his, yours, and the world’s time.
