King Orihah passed the crown to his son Kib, who had many children, including a son named Corihor who conquered and imprisoned his own father. While he was imprisoned, Kib fathered another son, named Shule, who grew exceptionally strong and mighty in his judgment. He and his followers smelted ore and made steel swords for themselves. Shule organized a successful rebellion against his brother Corihor. After Corihor was defeated, Kib was restored as king, and designated Shule as his successor.
It was a time of convoluted royal family quarrels and intrigues. Corihor’s son Noah rebelled and captured Shule, who was rescued by his sons. A son of Noah’s, named Cohor, split the kingdom in two. A son of Cohor’s, named Nimrod, restored the kingdom by conceding his father’s kingdom to Shule.
During Shule’s rule, God sent forth prophets who declared that the land was cursed because of the people’s idolatry and wickedness. The prophets said that unless the people repented, they would be destroyed. Instead of listening to them, the people mocked and harassed the prophets. In his wisdom, King Shule punished these harassers and passed a law that encouraged the prophets to go everywhere and speak of God’s word. Because of this, the people repented and peace and prosperity reigned during the days of King Shule.
