Alma 3

The Nephites buried their dead and returned to their homes and families. So many had been killed in the war with the Lamanites and Amlicites that the exact numbers of dead were never known. The casualties included warriors on both sides, and Nephite women, children, and livestock. Vast fields of grain had also been destroyed.

The Amlicites who joined the Lamanites were cursed by God and marked accordingly, as the Lamanites had been, so that they would be forever separate from the Nephites. The Amlicites had condemned themselves by rebelling against the word of God and became Lamanites also. By their example, every man who is cursed by God does so through his own voluntary choice.

Shortly after the defeat of the Lamanites and Amlicites, the Lamanites raised another army with which to make war against the Nephites. Because Alma had been wounded in the previous battle, he didn’t personally go to fight this time but sent out an army out to defeat the enemy again. The victorious Nephites drove the Lamanites out of their lands and reestablished peace, for the time being.

Tens of thousands were killed and consigned to their fate. According to their good acts or bad, they were rewarded with eternal happiness, or punished with eternal misery. [87 BC]
