3 Nephi 9

A great voice was then heard by all the scattered survivors cross the land. “Woe unto this people,” the voice said. “and woe unto all the people of the earth unless they repent. The devil and his angels laugh and rejoice today because of the deaths of my people. It is because of their sinfulness that they have died. I burned the great city of Zarahemla and all of its inhabitants. I have sunk the great city of Moroni into the sea and drowned its inhabitants. I have buried the great city of Moronihah and all its inhabitants to hide their sins and abominations from my sight. I have done this so that the blood of the prophets and saints will be avenged.

“I have caused the city of Gilgal to sink into the earth and entomb its inhabitants. I have drowned the cities and inhabitants of Onihah, Mocum, and Jerusalem beneath the waters to hide their sins and abominations from my sight. I have done this so that the blood of the prophets and saints will be avenged. I have buried the cities and inhabitants of Gadiandi, Gadiomnah, Jacob, and Gimgimno beneath valleys and hills to hide their sins and abominations from my sight. I have done this so that the blood of the prophets and saints will be avenged.

“In particular I have burned the great city Jacobugath and its inhabitants. I have done this because this city was occupied by the people of King Jacob, and was the most wicked city on earth. It was these people who practiced secret murders and conspiracies, destroyed the peace of my people, and destroyed the government. I have done this so that the blood of the prophets and saints will be avenged.

“I have also burned the cities and inhabitants of Josh, Gad, and Kishkumen because they stoned and cast out the prophets that I sent to advise them of their sins and abominations. I did this to hide their sins and abominations from my sight. I have done this so that the blood of the prophets and saints will be avenged. I have purged the land far and wide with great destruction to cleanse it of sinfulness and abominations.

“You that were spared were more righteous than those who perished. I ask that you return to me, repent your sins, and become converted so that I can heal you. If you come to me, you may have eternal life. I open my arms to receive you. Whoever comes will be received and blessed. I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I have created the heavens and earth, and all things in them. I was with God the Father in the beginning. I am in God the Father, and God the Father is in me. Through me the name of God the Father is glorified.

“I came to my people in Old Jerusalem to fulfill the prophecies in the scriptures, but I was not received by them. Those who did receive me have become the sons of God as will those who believe in my name. Through me the law of Moses is fulfilled. I am the light and life of the world. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

“I ask for no more blood sacrifices from you. I will no longer accept your burnt offerings or sacrifices. Instead, I want you to offer me the sacrifice of your broken heart and contrition so that I may baptize you with fire and the Holy Ghost. At the moment of their conversion the Lamanites were unknowingly baptized with fire and the Holy Ghost. I have come to bring redemption to the world and save earth’s people from sin. Whoever comes to me as a little child will be received and will enter the kingdom of God. For this I have laid down my life, and then taken it up again. Repent people, come to me and be saved.”
