3 Nephi 26

Jesus Christ explained many things, both great and small, to the Nephite crowd.

“My Father has commanded me to give you these scriptures that you didn’t have,” he said, “so that they would be available for future generations.”

He told them of things from the beginning of time through the time of earth’s end. He explained the day of judgment to them, the day when all the people from the whole earth would be judged according to their lives, whether they were good or evil. Those who were good would be rewarded with life everlasting. Those who were evil would be eternally damned, all according to the mercy, justice, and holiness of Jesus Christ.

“While the plates of Nephi contain more than what it is written here,” wrote Mormon, “it is not possible to write even a hundredth part of what Jesus Christ taught to the Nephite people. The words that I have included are those things that need to be known and brought to our descendants through the future Gentiles, according to the spoken words of Jesus Christ. If those who receive these words believe in them, greater things yet will be shown to them. For those who don’t believe these words, these greater things will be withheld, and lead to their condemnation. Even though I want to write down all of Nephi’s words, God has forbidden me to do so.”

For three days Jesus Christ taught the Nephite people. He appeared to them often, breaking bread, blessing it, and giving it to them. He taught and ministered to the children showing them even greater things than were shown to the adults, so that the fathers learned these things from their children.

By the time Jesus Christ ascended into heaven for the second time, all of the sick and crippled people were healed, the blind could see, and the deaf could hear. He even raised a man from death. The day after his ascension the crowds gathered together. They saw and heard their children, even the babies, saying the most amazing things that were forbidden to be written down. The disciples whom Jesus Christ had chosen baptized and taught all those who came to them. All of these people were afterwards filled with the Holy Ghost. Many of the people saw and heard unspeakable things that they were forbidden to write down. They taught and ministered to each other, and everyone dealt fairly with one another. All those who were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ became members in the Church of Christ.
