2 Nephi 33

I wish that I were a better writer and could convey the power of God as well in writing as I can in speech. But do not cast aside my writings, because I believe them to be of great value to all people, and especially to my descendants. I pray that my words will be made strong so that those who read them will know about their ancestors, be persuaded to do good, and believe in Jesus Christ till the end of time which is eternal. Because I speak harshly against sin, only the spirit of the devil can be angry at my words.

I speak in kindness to my people, to the Jews whose heritage I’ve come from, and to the Gentiles who will come to this new land. You will know that these words are true when you stand before God in judgment, and learn that they are his words also. I pray that many of us will be saved by God on the last great day. And so I finish speaking, as the voice of an ancestor whispering to you from the grave, and bid you farewell until the great day of judgment comes. My words will either save you or condemn you. So says God, and I must obey.
