Alma 34

Next Amulek began to teach them, saying: We know the question in your minds is if there will be a Christ. I know Christ will come to earth. He will take on him the sins of his people. God has said it.

A payment must be made for our sins, or no one can return to God. The Son of God will make this great payment. Then He will save all who believe in Him.

Use your faith to repent. Pray to God that He will have mercy on you. He is mighty to save. Pray to Him when you are in your fields. Pray to Him in your houses. Pray morning, noon and night. This is not all; you must pour out your souls in your secret places. Even when you are not praying, let your hearts think of God at all times.

After you have done these things, do not turn away the needy. You must visit the sick and share your things. If you do not do these things, your prayers will be wasted.

Now is the time and day of your salvation. This life is the time for men to prepare to meet God. Do not delay the day of your repentance. You cannot say, when you come to your last day, that you will repent and return to God. No, you cannot say this. For the same spirit that rules your bodies when you die will rule you in the eternal world.

Work out your salvation with fear before God. Argue no more against the Holy Ghost. Take on you the name of Christ. Be patient, with a firm hope that you will one day rest from all your troubles.
