There were too many dead people to count. The bodies of the Lamanites and Amlicites were thrown into the river and their bones washed away to sea.

Many Nephite women and children were killed. Many of their flocks and herds were destroyed. The marching armies smashed down many fields of grain. After they finished burying their dead, the Nephites returned to their lands and families.

In this year, tens of thousands of people were killed, both good and bad. They are gone to the eternal world for eternal joy or eternal sadness, according to the spirit they chose to obey.
